No, you aren't dreaming: Donald Trump is still going to be President of the United States.
And the latest piece of weird news to sling onto the shit heap of current events is that a leading commander of ISIS has called Trump "a complete maniac".
Yep, you read that right.
Commander Abu Omar Khorasani told Reuters: "This guy is a complete maniac. His utter hate towards Muslims will make our job much easier because we can recruit thousands."
"Our leaders were closely following the U.S. election," he added, "but it was unexpected that the Americans will dig their own graves and they did so."
Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric was so pronounced during his campaign, calling for mass deportation and an outright ban on Muslims entering the country, that even if he back peddles on promises it won't be easily forgotten.
Analysts have argued that his statements during his candidacy was enough to "fuel the militants' propaganda machine".
"Militants will still use those quotes," said Matthew Henman, head of IHS Jane's Terrorism and Insurgency Centre. "The key thing militant groups, particularly Islamic State and al Qaeda, depend on for recruitment purposes is convincing Muslims in the Western world that the West hates them and won't ever accept them as part of their society."
But fear not. Trump (according to himself) is the only man who can defeat ISIS, with no clear strategy aside fromin planng to "bomb the shit out of 'em"
What a guy.
