2017 might be looking shoddy already, but the confirmation of Frank Ocean to headline Lovebox Festival is the sort of announcement that could turn it all around.

The American musician has been off the radar of late with only one major interview since the release of his critically acclaimed second studio album, Blonde - but that is about to change as the BBC revealed he is set to play the Friday night slot at the East London festival on the 14th July.

Ocean has not yet performed his new album live and last performed in the UK two years ago. Next year will mark the 15th anniversary of LoveBox and Ocean will likely be singing to many of those "Super rich kids with nothing but fake friends" that he speaks so highly of.

In a recent New York Times interview Ocean alluded that he was planning which tracks would feature in his live shows saying, "I need to know how many records I've sold, how many album equivalents from streaming, which territories are playing my music more than others, because it helps me in conversations about where we're gonna be playing shows."

Tickets are on sale now, so snap them up as they're likely to go as quickly as his 24-hour Black Friday Blonde merchandise.
