RB Leipzig Manager Confirms That Arsenal Have Been In Touch About Succeeding Arsene Wenger

It's hard to imagine Arsenal without Arsene Wenger, their long-standing manager and the human embodiment of their entire ethos.

Every season he hints that it could be his last, before signing yet another contract extension. But after RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhüttl confirmed that Arsenal had been in touch about the manager's job, it looks like the Frenchman's reign could be coming to an end.

At a press conference, Hasenhüttl addressed rumours by saying: "There was a lot of truth to it. I have heard of worse fates than succeeding the longest-serving manager in England. It's not damaging my reputation, is it?"

The Austrian's recently promoted team, bankrolled by Red Bull, has gone unbeaten so far this season, and sit atop the table ahead of Bayern Munich and Dortmund.
