Ronnie O'Sullivan Starts Doing Weird Robot Voice During Interview Because He's Ronnie O'Sullivan

Never change, Rocket

Snooker genius Ronnie O'Sullivan only hits the headlines for one of two reasons: either he's just produced the kind of peerless, scintillating play that makes everyone momentarily care about the game again or he does something to remind you he's a mad as a ship's cat.

Today it is firmly the latter as ITV have released an interview with the Masters Champion responding to interview questions in a weird robotic voice.

Some background. The Rocket had just been disciplined by the World Snooker governing body for comments he made to the media during the recent Masters tournament (which he won) in which he swore and criticised a photographer for putting him off his game.

Clearly not in the mood to be interviewed, O'Sullivan initially met ITV's Neal Foulds' innocuous questions with extremely short answers – enough to make an interviewer panic as it is – before going full Dalek for the final two.

Writing on his blog afterwards, Ronnie explained: "I will no longer be talking in depth in press conferences or interviews because when I share my thoughts, I risk being fined.

"If I get fined [for not giving full answers] then I will no longer be prepared to perform all the contractual obligations we are asked to do for World Snooker."

So a protest of sorts, from Ronnie and not a sign he has lost it altogether. Snooker – whatever the official say – will be relieved.
