Tom Hiddleston is Hollywood's ultimate public schoolboy, and in an industry that boasts Benedict Cumberbatch - a name that sounds like Boris Johnson ordering breakfast underwater - that's saying something.
Accordingly, the Night Manager star is also the proud owner of nickname that could only be forged in the ruthless, mahogany-lined halls of Eton College.
While appearing on the Graham Norton Show last night, Hiddleston opened up about his years at the prestigious public school, where classmates teased him by suggesting that he wet the bed.
He said: "Very soon after I arrived I got the nickname 'Piddle' and the boys made up the rhyme, 'Hiddle Piddle did a widdle in the middle of the night.'
You read that right: Hiddle Piddle did a widdle in the middle of the night.
"My closest friends still call me 'Pid' but it's affectionate now."
Now the whole Taylor Swift vest debacle makes sense. The man is clearly ready to do whatever it takes to earn a new nickname and put his moist-sheeted moniker to bed.
Nice try, Hiddle Piddle.
The Graham Norton Show is on BBC One tonight at 10.35pm
