Eight points adrift in the Dutch title race, PSV were in desperate need of at least a draw against league leaders Feyenoord, a draw which, with the game poised at 1-1, they were looking likely to secure.

Feyenoord proceed to win 2-1. Jeroen Zoet proceeds to get kicked out of the team WhatsApp group.

Rather than accepting that he's had a bit of a shocker, Zoet decided to go on the offensive; blaming the use of Hawk-Eye technology for the result, rather than - you know - accepting the fact that he'd carried the ball over his own line for no apparent reason.

Jerone Zoet: not the most popular man in Eindhoven right now...

He told NOS: 'This is seriously f***** up, the goal-line technology made the difference and things could have been different if it had not.

"He went only by his watch. If that had not happened, I think he would have said no goal.

"You should always keep believing in things, but the title is very far away. [It's] a serious blow."

It really is, Jerone.
