As British stand-ups go, Jimmy Carr is one of the biggest proponents of taboo-tackling comedy.
But according to Carr, there's one subject matter that even he won't touch with his routines.
Speaking to Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, he said: "I would say the one thing you can never joke about in the UK is Hillsborough. It's a tragedy that has touched people in a very specific way and I cannot imagine anyone ever coming up with a joke about that."
Ninety-six people lost their lives as a result of the Hillsborough Stadium disaster in 1989, on the day of the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.
He continued: "[…]most things heal with time to a degree and [Hillsborough] hasn't."
"[But] you can joke about religion and I do often. You can joke about death, you can joke about murders, and you can joke about disasters," he said.
