Believe it or not, 60% of London is made up green space. It stands to reason then that over the past few summers the city's parks and open spaces have been put to proper use during festival season.
Seasoned festival purists may scoff, but with need to camp and easy access to bigger artists the urban festival has thrived in recent years. The top contender? East London's Field Day is the ideal way to let loose in the sprawl.
Taking place on August 6 in Victoria Park, the festival will feature performances from Mercury Nominees Anna Calvi and James Blake; eddying turns from Wild Beasts, Glasser and Still Corners alongside storming sets from Erol Alkan, Kieran Hebden and James Holden. Pray for sun people, pray for sun.
