Ed Sheeran will have some musical company in Game of Thrones season seven.
Mastodon's Brent Hinds has confirmed that the metal band will be back on the show in the upcoming run, revealing on The Jasta Show podcast last month that he had just returned from filming.
And it turns out that a freak accident that saw him break his leg actually perfectly fitted his role as part of the White Walker army.
"This time, I had my broken leg and they were like, 'You're doing the best zombie walk – we want you to come right towards the camera. I want you to drag this axe behind you,'" Hinds explained.
"I'm like a reborn, come-to-life wildling turning into a White Walker."
Hinds was joined by bandmates Bill Kelliher and Brann Dailor as the unfortunate wildings who were slaughtered by the White Walkers, with Dailor saying it made him love being in the band "even more".
"I watched my best friends Brent and Bill murdered right in front of me as I myself was stabbed in the stomach and had my throat slit multiple times, and I didn't mind at all," he recalled.
It was confirmed earlier this month that Ed Sheeran would be making a guest appearance in season seven of Game of Thrones.
Musicians are no strangers to the Seven Kingdoms, with Sheeran joining the likes of Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, Coldplay's Will Champion and Sigur Rós in appearing on the show.
