Elections are all the rage at the moment, and if you couldn't get enough of Trump's unexpected rise to power or can't wait for Marine Le Pen attempts to take over France, good news for you as apparently a general election is just around the corner.

Labour are bracing themselves for a snap general election rumoured to be as soon as 4 May in order for the government to secure a mandate to carry out Brexit. Seemingly politics will now follow the format of the X Factor and we will vote on every possibly eventuality.

The PM, who has repeatedly commented she does not wish for an early election, has just seven days to decide whether to change course and order a snap election. Under electoral law, the last day Mrs May could move the writ for an election on 4 May would be 27 March, the day on which she is expected to formally trigger Brexit.

Twitter users were quick to point out what an unwelcome addition a snap election would be to what already feels like rolling political unrest.
