Woman Jailed For Playing Too Much Ed Sheeran

She caused "wholly unacceptable level of disturbance"

A woman has been jailed for eight-weeks after repeatedly playing Ed Sheeran's no.1 hit 'Shape of You' at top volume.

Sonia Bryce from Willenhall played the song over and over again, causing a "wholly unacceptable level of disturbance" according to a judge (via ITV).

Bryce's landlords had secured a court order barring her from creating a nuisance, but she had been arrested repeatedly for breaching the injunction, and was handed a six-week sentence in December.

After returning home however, she was back playing the Sheeran song on loop again, and following complaints from her neighbours, she was back in court where she was handed an eight-week sentence.

The judge told her: "You must learn that you should behave as a reasonable and responsible adult and not make life for your neighbours the misery that you have."

Meanwhile, Sheeran recently gave the songwriters of TLC's 'No Scrubs' a songwriting credit on 'Shape of You ', after online fans pointed out similarities between the two tracks.

The song just marked its ninth week at No.1 on the Digital Song Sales chart, and a seventh week at No. 1 on Radio Songs.

It's the first single to reach the 170 million audience milestone since Adele's 'Hello', which made it to 172 million back in January.
