Not typically known for their subtlety or restraint when it comes to, well, anything, footballers have been getting shoddy tattoos since the cash-rich, gaudy dawn of the Premier League.
But Leroy Sane's new ink really takes the bad, bad, baaaaad biscuit.
Pictured shirtless after his team's 5-0 demolition of a totally pointless Watford side, the Manchester City winger has clearly opted for the Steve-O meta approach to body art, as he showed off a tattoo of HIMSELF celebrating a goal in a Manchester City shirt.
Beyond the obvious ( it is a bad idea to get a tattoo of your own likeness), Sane's back tattoo is even more incredible because it depicts him celebrating a goal against Monaco in this season's Champions League - a tie that City lost.
Leroy, why did you get a tattoo of yourself on yourself when your team didn't even win the game?
Made even more surprising by the fact that Sane actually seems like quite an articulate, thoughtful and generally-nice bloke, we don't want to be the ones to say "But what will it look like when you're 60, Leroy?"
But, seriously, he should have probably thought about that.
At least City fans will know he's loyal to the club?
