The curious saga of Alexis and Mesut, or A Tale of Two Offensive Players were it a Dickens play, is reaching its final act/
Recent reports has suggested Sanchez may be off to Bayern Munich and other top clubs have expressed interest, including Chelsea. Meanwhile interest in Ozil has been more limited with tentative approaches from Paris Saint-Germain and Fenerbahce. But news today suggests Ozil may be the sacrificial lamb in order to preserve enough cash to block Sanchez from leaving.
With Arsene Wenger set to formally announce his new two-year deal with the club today the next step will be to keep their key players and The Times report the North London club are prioritising keeping the Chilean, so much so they are willing to let Ozil go to raise enough money to keep him.
Sanchez rejected two astronomical offers from the club and reportedly wanted around £300,000-a-week to stay on, a figure they wouldn't be able to also offer to Mesut Ozil.
That said, other sources however claim that Sanchez is determined to force his way out and Ozil will reject a deal too and take a free transfer. Ouch.
