It's been a good 12 months for Brand Cristiano Ronaldo, with the slippery-haired football android (who definitely does not have an entire room made of out of mirrors in his house) claiming the Champions League, the European Championships, La Liga; the most lifelike statue you're ever likely to see, and now the title of the world's most famous athlete.

He's going to be loving this so much, isn't he?

Topping the list of the ESPN 100, an annual list of the 100 most famous athletes in the world, Ronaldo's global profile was determined based on an algorithm that takes into consideration everything from endorsement money to social media followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Having earned sales of up to $500 million for Nike in 2016, along with the launch of his own denim, underwear (all Y fronts, of course), fragrance and ab machine line, Ronaldo's social media followers included 118 million on Facebook, 93 million on Instagram (he likes photos of himself in his big white lonely house) and 50 million on Twitter for a total of 261 million followers.

Basically, he's very famous.

Drinking my tea and reading my book👍👌😘
