Boris Johnson has made a number of gaffs during the Conservatives' calamitous election campaign, but this has got to be his most embarrassing moment yet.
During an ITV News broadcast yesterday, the Secretary of State turned up at a shop named Gipsy Acora in the West Country and asked the resident fortune teller and her husband for a mystical election forecast.
The husband tells him that Labour will win, but Johnson pushes his wife for an "official forecast", to which she replies: "I'm not gonna tell you for nothing, you're having a laugh! You're taking away me pension and me rights and then you come in and ask me for something for nothing!"
Johnson tries to plunder the depths of his Victorian thesaurus in reply, but can only muster a pained "okay" before making his escape.
It's one of the only times you'll see Bo Jo lost for words. Cherish it, friends.
