You may remember 'My Lovely Horse', Father Ted's musical ode to… well, a lovely horse.

It featured during the much-beloved episode "A Song for Europe", in which Ted and Dougal try to write a song for the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest. It's a certified banger, and ultimately won them the competition.

So it should come as no surprise that a band from Mullingar, Ireland, have now decided to try and take the tune (originally performed by The Divine Comedy) to next year's contest in Lisbon.

Band member Graham Dowling told LADbible: "We were going past where the Father Ted house is and thought we could do something different topromote our tour.

"One of the lads said we should record the song, so we learned it all in 20 minutes. There was a man taking a picture of the house, so we asked him to video us, we did it in one take and went from there."
