Listen To Leaked Audio Of The Australian Prime Minister Mocking Donald Trump

It came during a behind-closed-doors speech to journalists

The Australian Prime Minister has been recorded ridiculing Donald Trump during a behind closed doors speech.

Malcolm Turnbull performed an impression of the American president, making light-hearted references to "fake polls" and Russia.

According to The Independent, the audio was leaked from the Australian Parliament's annual mid-winter ball, where Turnbull was talking to a room full of journalists in Canberra.

He talked about meeting the American President in New York last month, saying: "It was beautiful. It was the most beautiful putting-me-at-ease ever," he joked.

"The Donald and I, we are winning and winning in the polls. We are winning so much, we are winning, we are winning in ways we have never won before."

"I have this Russian guy… Believe me, it's true, it is true."

It's understandable that Turnbull would hold a grudge against Trump – when the Republican first arrived into office and held phone calls with several world leaders, he labelled his talk with the Australian PM as "the worst call by far".

He later rescinded the comment, saying: "They said we had a rough phone call… we didn't really have a rough phone call. It got a little bit testy. But that's okay."
