Manny Pacquiao Thinks That McGregor Has "No Chance" Against Mayweather

Say how you feel

Many popular figures within the boxing world have laid into Conor McGregor's upcoming fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr, likening it to a sport-shaming farce.

For his part, Mayweather Jr has argued that he "had to give [the people] what they wanted to see", and we can't imagine the mammoth payday was easy to turn down, either.

But now Manny Pacquiao, one of his greatest rivals over the past decade, has leapt to the pugilist's defence – and backed his prospects.

"McGregor has no chance in this fight," Pac-Man told Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports.

"In fact, it could be very boring. There is no way [McGregor] will be able to land a meaningful punch on Floyd. How could he? He has no professional experience in boxing."

Although he stopped short of endorsing the fight, instead redirecting attention to a boxing match a month further down the line on 16 September.

"The real fight and the best fight is [Gennady] Golovkin vs. Canelo [Alvarez]," Pacquiao said. "The best vs. the best. That's the fight I will be watching."

Mayweather and McGregor are set to fight on 26 August at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas.
