With 253 goals to his name during his time at Old Trafford, there have been a fair few classic Wayne Rooney strikes in the Manchester United archives. Both from his furious pre-hair transplant pomp and the wind-down years, when he took a more midfield-focused, relaxed role in the side.
But there's one goal in particular that still burns bright in Sir Alex Ferguson's memory.
You know the one.
It's the bicycle kick vs City from 2011.
You knew it was coming...
Speaking to Manchester United's official website (which btw is the one of the most budget websites in the world) about the goal, Fergie said:"We played really well in the first-half, we were 1-0 up but then they equalised."
"We were under the cosh a little bit and grappling to get into the game and, when the ball got out to Nani, his cross was deflected.
"So as Wayne was making his way towards the box he had to change direction and mobilise himself to hit the ball the way he did. It was unbelievable – I think that's the best to be honest.
Here it is again, for old time's sake.
He shinned it a bit, didn't he? But it's still a beauty. A slightly scuffed beauty.
Long live Wayne, the pasty-thighed king of Old Trafford.
