Ok, so we've already given you the definitive list of Great British films as chosen by Ben Wheatley, a guy who knows a thing or two about the genre, but as in any great democracy the public need a bit of a say too, which is why Vue Cinemas polled 2,000 people to see which British films they thought were best.

Featuring all the big hitters, as well as some misses (Notting Hill? Come on GB!), read on to see which homegrown films, actors and directors were voted the best of the best of the best.

P.S: The Italian Job was voted number 1, which is ok we suppose. But it's not really the best, is it?
