Honestly, we're surprised it's taken this long.
Quentin Tarantino is reportedly gearing up to take on the story of the Manson Family murders – his first movie based around real life events.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director is in talks with a host of A-listers for his unique take on the gruesome case.
The title is as yet unknown, but the project has been written by Tarantino, who will also direct. Harvey and Bob Weinstein are also involved.
Tarantino has reportedly approached Brad Pitt, who worked with the director on Inglourious Basterds for a starring role, as well as Jennifer Lawrence, with a view of shooting next year.
Apparently the story will focus around the 1969 murder of Sharon Tate, the actress wife of director Roman Polanski, as well as the formation of Charles Manson's infamous cult.
It is of course a tricky subject for A-listers to attach their name to, and an insider told the Reporter than Lawrence isn't too keen on the idea.
Get ready for more overly defensive, butt shutting interviews from your boy Quentin.
