Your phone battery life is no laughing matter. If it runs out, you're going to have to look people in the eye, communicate verbally and confronting the fundamental nothingness gnawing at your soul.
Handy, then, that Avast have compiled a list of the apps that have the biggest impact on your battery life – both when running in the background automatically and when you're open them yourself.
They were tested on Android, but the findings can be broadly applied to iPhones too (except the ones that aren't compatible with iPhones, not those).
The 10 worst apps for battery life that run automatically in the background:
1) Samsung AllShare
2) Samsung Security Policy Updates
3) Beaming Service for Samsung
4) ChatON Voice & Video Chat
5) Google Maps
6) WhatsApp Messenger
10) DU Battery Saver
The ten worst app when they're physically opened by the user:
1) Samsung WatchON
2) Samsung Video Editor
4) Spotify Music
6) Clean Master
7) LINE: Free Calls & Messages
8) Microsoft Outlook
9) BBC News
10) ES File Explorer File Manager
The top and bottom of it? Don't use Facebook or Netflix if you're lost in a desert.
