The fight happened way back

JAY-Z says he has only ever had one "disagreement" with Solange, and we bet you know exactly which one he is talking about.

In case you needed a refresher, here's a snippet of that infamous video.

The video where Solange was being restrained by a bodyguard after lashing out at JAY-Z, while Beyoncé looked on into the middle-distance.

Although the argument went down behind closed doors, it quickly went viral after the CCTV footage was leaked from the Standard Hotel in 2014.

Beyoncé and JAY-Z have since addressed it in their lyrics, but no-one has been keen to come forward and talk about it publicly, until now.

Speaking on the Rap Radar podcast, JAY-Z said he has always respected Solange as an artist and it was the first and last time they would "disagree".

"I think we went into the elevator as great artists. I've always loved Solange's music; I thought she was slept on until this last album [A Seat at the Table]."

He continued: "I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space, but it ain't nothing,"

"We had one disagreement ever. Before and after, we've been cool. She's like my sister. I will protect her. That's my sister, not my sister-in-law, my sister."

Fans have always maintained that Solange was angry with her brother-in-law for allegedly cheating on her sister. A rumour which gained even more traction when Lemonade dropped two years later and Beyoncé sang about "Becky with the good hair".

So we may never know exactly what went down, but at least JAY and Solange seemed to have buried the hatchet, for now.
