It hasn't been a particularly positive transfer window for Arsenal, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain packing his bags for the north and Alexis Sanchez waiting by the door with his two dogs begging to leave.
So in the dying light of the transfer window yesterday it was apparent that Arsene was desperate to sign someone, leading to a £92m bid for Monaco's Thomas Lemar.
The striker reportedly wasn't too eager to move and Arsenal fans were left to repeatedly bash their heads against the table. If said heads are feeling sore this morning, they'll be made worse by the revelation that Manchester United's Paul Pogba may have had a hand to play in the deal falling through.
Spanish sports journalist Guillem Balague reports that Arsenal players Alexandre Lacazette, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny all marched to Lemar's bedroom while on international duty for France and begged him to join them at the Emirates.
But it looks like his other international teammate Pogba burst out of the wardrobe when they left and forced Lemar to reject the deal, possibly so he could help orchestrate getting him to Old Trafford.
Pogba uploaded an image of the pair together, with the (translated) caption, 'Happy with yesterday's result, working for the next objective...' , alongside a suspicious #AgentP hashtag.
It wouldn't be the first time Pogba has tried on the agent role either. Romelu Lukaku admitted that he was a crucial part in him signing for the Red Devils instead of Chelsea.
He's either seriously rubbing it in or trolling us all.
