Ian Wright Hits Back At Mesut Ozil After He Told Former Arsenal Players To "Stop Talking"

"It's laughable"

Mesut Ozil recently celebrated his four year Arsenal anniversary, and it's fair to say that things haven't gone exactly to plan.

While the German midfielder has won two F.A Cups in that time, the team haven't seriously challenged for the Premier League or Champions League trophies, and seem to be moving backwards. So much so that Ozil has stalled on signing a new contract, and could leave on a free in the summer.

Many former players-turned-pundits have criticised the team and called out Ozil specifically, leading the midfielder to write a defiant message on Instagram, saying: " […] stop talking and start supporting!"

Former Arsenal legend Ian Wright has had particularly forthright opinions on the current set-up, and he decided to lay into Ozil's comments on BBC Radio 5 Live.

"You're not signing a deal and you're probably going to continue to hide behind the fact that (Alexis) Sanchez is the one that everybody's going to say, "Is he going to go?" He said.

"Why haven't you signed yet? That's what I would say to you. If you feel that strongly, why haven't you signed yet?

"A player that is not actually performing on the pitch is coming out, calling people out and he's not signing a contract.

"It's laughable."
