Unlike player and managers, who can't walk down the street without being mobbed or abused, club owners have a little more mystery to hide behind when in public.

That was probably what Fenway Sports Group chief John Henry thought when he headed off to watch the Boston Red Sox last night.

The sports group own both the Red Sox and Liverpool Football Club, a connection which one attendee made very quickly upon seeing him.

@ArmenianTweets_ uploaded a video of him having a heart to heart with the chief. Well, shouting "Sign Virgil van Dijk in January!" whilst John Henry repeatedly ignores him.

"It's the right thing to do. He wants to play for us" he added, but Henry (who can obviously hear him) took the high ground and ignored him.

Considering how public it was the Liverpool were indeed desperate to sign the Southampton forward last season it's surprising he didn't turn around and shout, "Don't you think I f**king tried mate?"

Nonetheless the sort of casual manner we hope transfer discussions will be conducted in going forward.
