One is a world class athlete who radiates health and physical wellbeing, the other is a dad bod rockin' vape lord with a cargo shorts fetish whose idea of rigorous exercise is climbing the ladder from the top deck to the swimming platform on a private yacht. But Roger Federer would still like to see Leonardo DiCaprio play him in a potential biopic of his on-court life.
Speaking at the opening of the Zurich Film Festival about the possibility of his and Rafael Nadal's rivalry getting the Borg vs. McEnroe treatment, the Swiss maestro said: "I doubt there ever will be a movie about Rafa and me, but if there is, I'd like Matt Damon, Leo DiCaprio or a James Bond like guy to play me."
A 'James Bond guy' you say, Rog?
Combined, Federer and Nadal account for 35 grand slam titles and have played many classics over the years, although it would be hard to imagine how that skill and intensity could be replicated by Hollywood.
It couldn't... basically.
When pushed for which actor he'd like to actually be, the world No. 2 relented and said Leo (it's always Leo), "I would like to be Leonardo DiCaprio.
"He recently won an Oscar and makes great films. I think it's pretty good right now.'
You're right, Rog. It is pretty good right now.
