Cast your mind back to 2014 and all anyone could talk about was hit podcast Serial. Hell, people were even looking forward to their commutes so they could devour hours of the investigative journalism.
Good news if you were one of those nerds as they've announced they'll be revisiting Season 2 thanks to a development in the case.
The focus of the season, army member Bowe Bergdahl, has now been sentenced for abandoning his post in Afghanistan but will not serve prison time. Instead he'll be demoted and have to pay $1,000 in fines over the next 10 months.
This means that, as was the case for season 1, Serial will release a 'coda' to conclude and summarise the events in the season.
According to The Verge, this end note is necessary because "Ideally this coda will help finish out the narrative for listeners who might not have kept up, looking back on the events that have transpired since the season ended in a year and a half ago."
If that's not enough to get you excited about, the cult podcast is also being renewed for a third season which producer Ira Glass told Variety will, "take on something huge and different with characters and narrative but very different from the first two seasons."
