Esquire recently joined forces with the Leuka Mini Masters sponsored by Bing, a unique mix of par-3 golf tournament, music festival and summer garden party. The event, now in its third year, was again hosted by actor Dougray Scott and staged at the superb Dukes Meadows in Chiswick.
Dougray was joined by the likes of Hugh Grant, Rob Brydon, Tim Henman, James Nesbitt, Damian Lewis, Philip Glenister, Tim Lovejoy and Gianluca Vialli, who captained the Esquire team, in raising funds for Leuka, the leukaemia charity based at London's Hammersmith Hospital.
Players, spectators and guests were treated to live music by Alan Pownall, Silvery and The View from the Jagermeister stage, and DJ sets from Blow-Up and the lovely Jameela Jamil. Meanwhile, the cocktails flowed at the Chase Vodka tent and the May Fair Hotel 'bed bar', while the Esquire/Piper-Heidsieck champagne tent proved, not surpringly, to be an extremely popular stop on the picturesque nine-hole circuit. Meanwhile, at the clubhouse, ice-cold Pilsner Urquell was the order of the day.
Later, after an Omega watch was won by actor JJ Feild at the conclusion of the Penthouse Putt-Off event, the gala dinner was served by The Cinnamon Club. James Walsh then brought the curtain down on a memorable day of music, fundraising and gourmet golfing with a brilliant acoustic set.
