Darwin Deez has the hair of a Greek bridesmaid, the physique of Rodney Trotter, the dance moves of Napoleon Dynamite and the wardrobe of your mum circa 1985. And yet, somehow, you stick it all together and it just works.
Maybe it's the fact that his unfussy production reveals the sweet and simple craftsmanship of his pop songs, like current single "Radar Detector". (Suitably sweet and simple video above). If that tickles you, his eponymous album, out now, is also rather lovely.
Or maybe it's that when we saw him in London a couple of months ago, his whole band took five to perform some of the most winningly amateur inter-song dance routines we've ever seen. He's touring the UK right now so you could even witness them for yourself. For more details go to www.myspace.com/darwindeez
