How this band are currently unsigned is somewhat bemusing to us. Then again, the infectious and perky indie pop that this Northern Irish collective are manufacturing is certain to be enjoyed by big audiences this summer, so perhaps they're not too bothered. Short of a sticksman, these three lads have been likened to Death Cab For Cutie and Broken Social Scene (and we'd add Vampire Weekend to the mix), but with a distinct happy and exciting feel brought on by their racy guitar riffs. Simply, they are great.
It’s always a good sign when your debut single sells out in double-quick time. “Something Good Can Work” put out on trendy Parisian label Kitsuné has attracted great swathes of attention, and rightly so. Big on the continent too, they took to Europe earlier this year having four brilliant shows in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris and Amsterdam. With a debut album in the pipeline, and a "dream" slot at Glasto, it all looks promising for these picture-house pioneers.
