When New York dance-punk heroes LCD Soundsystem disbanded, they did so in style – with a sold-out, near four-hour epic musical extravaganza in Madison Square Garden, accompanied by guests including Arcade Fire and Hot Chip.

The event was captured for posterity in a documentary entitled Shut Up And Play The Hits, directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, with additional camerawork by Spike Jonze and Lance Bangs. An emotional roller-coaster of a film, it follows Murphy and the band during the build-up to – and aftermath of – the farewell concert, a gig which LCD Soundsystem described as “the best funeral ever”.

Now, in honour of the documentary’s DVD release (exclusive footage of which can be viewed above) the entire farewell concert is being screened this Thursday, 4th October in Room One of Fabric, along with a live DJ set from Jim Stanton of Horsemeat Disco. The projection screen is enormous, the sound-system is (appropriately) fantastic, and the night will be about as close as it’s possible to get to experiencing the electric atmosphere of the concert itself.

Esquire has three pairs of V.I.P tickets to give away to the screening (winners will also receive a copy of the triple disc boxset, on DVD or Blu-ray) - to enter, simply e-mail online@esquire.co.uk with the subject 'LCD Soundsystem' - and be quick, the competition closes at midday on Wednesday.

Shut Up and Play The Hits is on DVD and Blu-ray 8th Octwww.shutupandplaythehits.com
