A suit deserves a bit more attention than just putting it on a hanger. Jeremy Hackett offers some advice on how to make them last.
If you wear a suit to work every day then you need at least five in your wardrobe. Rotate them throughout your working week and dry clean them about twice a year.
At the end of each season, it's a good policy to put your suits away in individual carriers, having them cleaned first.
Pack suits inside out when travelling. This will prevent creases and lint build up.
Wooden hangers with shaped shoulders are the best, especially if they have a rubber strip on the bar to stop the trousers from slipping. Try not to hang suits too close.
Brush your suits regularly and use a damp cloth to remove any surface dirt. Rather than ironing, try using a steamer, as this will make the creases quickly disappear.
