The Book

30 Years of Stone Island

Stone Island marks three decades with a big book of coats.

These days, much is made in the fashion world of brands “reinventing” themselves. Not Stone Island. For the past 30 years, the Italian label has consistently produced hi-tech, super-functional coats, parkas and windbreakers for the great, the good and, occasionally, the not so good.

To mark their 30th year, they’ve launched Archivio ’982–’012, a photographic tribute to the brand’s best garments.

Featuring 307 of Stone Island’s most notable pieces, and there were some 20,000 to choose from, the book is a beautifully art-directed homage to a sportswear icon. Flick to page 113 of Archivio to see our favourite piece, this high-visibility cagoule from 1991.
