Pitt, Fassbender, and a leopard: The Counsellor's first trailer

While we’re not crazy about the breathless trend of trailers-teasing-other-trailers-teasing-other-trailers, the below clip for The Counsellor is as satisfying a 44 seconds we’ve had all week.

Leaning heavily on a cavalcade of stars, ambiguous plot points and, y’know, a leopard, it’s the first we’ve seen of Ridley Scott’s first project post-Prometheus. Further upping the hype-stakes is its Cormac McCarthy-penned screenplay (see: No Country For Old Men).

Our most notable aesthetic moment in a trailer drowning in aesthetic moments? Javier Bardem, who, after a peroxide-happy role in Skyfall, continues to prove that no hairstyle is too unflattering (and no character too manic).

Here’s to your continued panache, Mr. Penelope Cruz. (…did we mention she’s looking brilliant?)

The Counsellor is out November.
