'A Most Wanted Man' Trailer: Philip Seymour Hoffman Goes German

The trailer for one of the late actor's final roles has been released

Unless you count two more installements of The Hunger Games – which frankly, we don't – A Most Wanted Man is one of two final opportunities the world will have to watch the late Philip Seymour Hoffman tackle a serious role (the second being forthcoming drama God's Pocket).

Very much in the vein of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (like the 2011 film, it's another adaptation of a John le Carré novel), Hoffman stars as Günther Bachmann, the ringleader of a covert anti-terrorist team seeking out further suspects of the September 11 attacks. You can get a taster of his German accent in the trailer above (did we detect a tiny bit of Welsh sneaking in there in places?).

The spy thriller also stars Rachel McAdams, Willem Dafoe and Robin Wright and looks set to be another compelling – and possibly slightly confusing – spy story, made all the more poignant of course by Hoffman's tragic death earlier this year.

A Most Wanted Man is set to be released in the US 25 July, with no current UK release set as of yet.
