Listen To Jamie T’s First Song In 5 Years

‘Don’t You Find’ is the down-beat debut from the singer’s forthcoming album

After a five year absence, Jamie T has returned with this new single, ‘Don’t You Find.’ Moving away from the hip-hop and reggae influences of his first two albums, the downbeat, slowburn track mixes electro drums and synthesisers with guitar.

In the brooding, low-key video – which begins with a snarling dog – Jamie T sits at a kitchen table, playing his Fender Telecaster, as a dancer performs against a green-lit back ground.

Speaking to Radio One’s Zane Lowe, the singer-songwriter commented on the track’s departure from his previous material, "I thought it was kind of different and a nice track. I spent a long time working on songs over the past few years and trying to get power out of slow songs rather than using tempo to get aggression out."

Jamie T announced his return to music at the start of July with a hand-written note posted on his website, promising a number of UK tour dates. While in conversation with Zane Lowe Jamie T admitted he’s “kind of forgotten how to play everything” after his 5 year break. As well as confirming live dates, Jamie T announced a follow-up to his 2009 album Kings & Queens is in the works which will feature ‘Don’t You Find’.
