With a new autobiography out this month, she fills us in on her favourite holidays, haircuts and what you should be wearing.

Favourite city... London. It’s my home, it's where my family and friends are. It’s the most exciting city in the world, and there's so much I love to do here: afternoon tea at the Savoy, walking around Borough Market, going to Portabello's vintage shops, walking on Primrose Hill and Hampstead Heath.

Book: The one that most captured my imagination was Enid Blyton's The Far Away Tree. It was one of the first books my mum read me when I was a little girl – it's wonderful.

Film: I have so many! It's not a cool, cultural one, but I love Pretty Woman – I could sit and watch it a million times.

Restaurant: I really love The Ivy. I's got that that classic, old school, British charm, and they do amazing Sherpard's Pie. Or the Nobu in Malibu, for their mini filet mignon burgers and sashimi.

Holiday: I love Greece – the islands like Mykonos and Paros are my favourite. Everything looks like it’s from Star Wars – all the white, cubic houses and the beautiful churches. Then there's the wonderful food at the tavernas. It's my favourite place, I always leave feeling replenished.

Outfit on a man: Just decent jeans and a nice, tight t-shirt.

Haircut on a man: I like the shaved, bald look, but I guess that’s pretty obvious!

Way to relax: I love pottering around in my garden, making everything beautiful – the whole summer I’ve been at home planting hydrangeas. I’ve got about five acres so it’s not too big, but it’s enough to keep me busy.

Drink: My favourite is good red wine. But at Steam and Rye (Kelly's City-based, American themed restaurant)  we do amazing cocktails, like the Monica Lewinsky. And I’m partial to a bit of rum punch. I was in Jamaica this year and we were on it every day.

Piece of life advice: Always go with your instinct: your gut feeling tells you everything you need to know.

Telly show: I love the old sitcoms: Ab Fab; Only Fools And Horses – you can’t beat them. Del Boy is my all time favourite character.

On screen idol: Marylin Monroe, she was such a great comedy actress. She was so believable that everyone just thought she was a ditzy blonde.

Item you'd save from a burning building: My photo albums, and my grandfather’s Royal British Legion medal.

Kelly's new autobiography, Close Up, is out 8 September
