As if voluntarily jumping out of a plane isn’t stressful enough, imagine doing it while moments away from crashing into open water.
That’s exactly what the passengers of a plane heading for a tandem skydive over lake Taumpo in New Zealand were forced to do after suffering engine failure at 1,300m.
Incredibly, all 13 people on board – the pilot, six skydiving instructors and their six guests – managed to abandon the plane within “15 seconds” of the engine failure and land safely, leaving the plane to crash into the lake.
Despite the gravity of the situation, no one was hurt.
Let’s just hope Sam Mendes has been taking notes for Spectre…
