As the refined reader you are, it will not have escaped your notice that there’s been a bit of a recent trend for putting little model-railway figurines into still-life shoots. Need a picture of a hiking boot? Why not have little mountaineers ice-axing up the laces? Photographing spicy chicken wings? Simply add miniature firemen dowsing the plate. (Both of these actually exist, by the way, it’s not just our overactive imaginations.) Of course, like all popular ideas, at some point it was going to turn dirty.
