James Corden has suggested that he will "never" stop making A League Of Their Own - even with his punishing schedule for The Late, Late Show in the States.

James demanded a clause in his US contract that allowed him to come back and film ALOTO and explained that he loves jetting to the UK for the panel show.

"The only time it's hard is on our last week of the show in America, everybody's talking about, 'What are you going to do on the break?'" he said.

"And people are talking about going to the Bahamas or Australia or, 'I'm just going to chill out and lie by the beach' or, 'I'm going to drive to Big Sur'. And you think, 'Okay, well, we've got to do nine more shows'.

"But the truth is I find it very, very refreshing to come and do something else and mostly because of [Jamie Redknapp, Jack Whitehall and Freddie Flintoff] really. I really enjoy coming to work with them every day here and I really enjoy the camaraderie of it."

He added: "I feel the show is the four of us and our chemistry and camaraderie which I think is the thing that makes people want to keep watching it, and I would never, ever want to not be part of that. I would be really sad to not go to work with these three, so I will never stop doing it, I don't think."

Despite that, Jack Whitehall quickly suggested that Sue Barker could take over from James ("That bitch, she's always sniffing around," James joked).

But more seriously, Jack promised that he can't imagine the show without James, saying: "It would be like Top Gear. If one goes, we all go."

And James also dismissed suggestions that he could be working himself too hard, joking: "We're not down the mines, are we? No-one ever asks a builder, 'Oh God, you've done 12 extensions, how are you going to sort it out?'

"Someone picks us up in a car and we come here and someone says, 'Can I get you some lunch?' and then I host the show. I think it's an absolute luxury to be tired doing something which I love."

He added: "It's hard - we have a show today, tomorrow, and on Friday and I fly back on Saturday and I start the American show on Monday. I'm not going to say that it's easy, especially if you throw jet-lagged children into the mix.

"But I also consider that to be high-class problems, to go, 'Oh God, I've got to finish shooting this show in the UK which people love and then I've got to fly to America to do my own late-night show'. My mates from school would really have a go at me if I was to complain about such a thing."

But it seems that James's love of music, showcased so much in The Late, Late Show, is starting to rub off on A League Of Their Own.

"There is some singing and dancing," he joked. "The more the show goes on, the more it's becoming basically just a Broadway musical and less about sport. Jack does a phenomenal rap with Kris Akabusi… And Fred got to sing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the studio, which was pretty exceptional."

A League Of Their Own returns on Thursday, September 22 at 9pm on Sky One.
