Like Marty McFly, the characters assembled this morning on the Fox & Friends couch—that hallowed ground of American political discourse—had one destination, and that was the year 1955. Steve Doocy and co. invited author Suzanne Venker on to discuss how any decent housewife should behave when her husband gets home.

The result, suffice it to say, was not as civil as they thought it was:

"Right, emphasize the positive, not the negative," Brian Kilmeade chimed in eagerly. "Don't do what—we just saw Vince Vaughn getting nagged."

"Nagging, perfectionist, telling him what he's doing wrong," Venker agreed. "My husband would call it—I can't believe I'm saying this on national TV—directing his traffic."

The segment also included a brief discussion about how all men are "so simple" and just want "sex, companionship, and respect."
