The end of the miserably-long Game of Thrones drought may be in sight, if you believe star Liam Cunningham.

Because of the ambitious shooting schedule for the first of two final Game of Thrones seasons, the Emmy-winning drama was pushed from its usual spring premiere to an undetermined summer date.

However, Cunningham—who plays Ser Davos in the HBO show—has dropped a potential hint about when we can expect season seven while chatting with The Independent about fans' despair over the delay.

"I've been disappointing various people around the world because it was meant to come out in April. It's July now, I think," he revealed.

"There's going to be a launch and something special happening this year for the premiere. The bad news is, there will only be seven episodes and the final season starts [filming] again as far as I know in September."

Liam Cunningham has since backed off his revelation with a funny post on his Twitter account, writing: "Davos don't know date. Mongo only pawn in Game Of Thrones. #gameofthronesseason7"

But a denial is exactly what he would do if he accidentally leaked top-secret info, right? A July premiere date would coincide well with the end of HBO's spring dramas—although the channel has yet to comment.
