According to Entertainment Weekly, Thrones producers confirmed yesterday at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Texas that Sheeran will be making a guest appearance in Season 7 of the HBO hit.
Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss revealed that the singer, whose latest album ÷ is smashing chart records all over the place, is so popular with cast members that they've been trying to get him to appear for ages.
And now it's finally happened.
There's no word yet on what Sheeran's role will be in the show or whether he'll perform a rousing rendition of 'Galway Girl'.
Game of Thrones is no stranger to celeb cameos, seeing as Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, Coldplay's Will Champion, Sigur Rós and Mastodon have all previously popped up in Westeros.
Game of Thrones returns on 16 July for its seventh season – and we are now beyond excited.
