You can get lost in Game of Thrones theories, and a brilliant new website is about to give you a lot more.

The Theories Are Coming website was created by Vasanth Seshadri and allows you to select one of ten Game of Thrones characters and pair them with ten possible scenarios, some of which have happened, some of which are made-up.

It then generates a paragraph of text that explains just how those two elements combine, meaning you can get situations like this where Jon Snow orchestrated the Red Wedding.

"Who hates Jon Snow more than anyone else? Well, there was Alliser Thorne and Janos Slynt, but long before them, there was Catelyn Stark. Not only that, Jon himself admitted that he grew up being jealous of Robb Stark," it reads.

"Given an opportunity to eliminate both of them, Jon may well have been tempted. Maybe the ravens that reached Walder Frey were not from King's Landing but from Castle Black."

We don't know about you, but we're convinced. Damn you Jon!

But on a lighter note, maybe Podrick Payne ends up ruling Westeros at the end of the show?

"What if Podrick is secretly a scion of House Reyne and his end game is revenge against the Lannisters?" it argues.

"Reyne even sounds like Payne. With houses Targaryen, Stark, Baratheon and Lannister all not far from extinction, maybe the story will end with a Reyne on the Iron Throne."

We'd be OK with that.

See if any of these theories pan out – which we very much doubt – when Game of Thrones returns to HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK in July.
