It has been almost three decades since we saw new footage of the town of Twin Peaks, Washington, but if there's one thing we've learned from the trailer, it's this: Twin Peaks hasn't changed much with the times.
Yes, late model cars populate the parking lot of the RR Cafe in the latest trailer for the Twin Peaks revival series on Showtime, but the restaurant is still flanked by newspaper dispensers, a quaint throw-back to the days of print. Likewise, the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Department seems unchanged since the original series aired.
It's actually somewhat refreshing, to know that some things never change. And it's exciting to see new footage, since the production is shrouded in secrecy, and the trailers before this were all made exclusively from archival reels.
