BBC Two has released a brand new picture of Cillian Murphy in series four of Peaky Blinders – and he looks just as gun-totingly violent as ever.

Posing with his murder weapon of choice, Tommy Shelby, who is head of a family of criminals and is feared on the Birmingham streets, is clearly just waiting for trouble.

Though the third series of Peaky Blinders climaxed with the whole criminal clan being thrown behind bars, Tommy included, recent cast pictures seem to show them out and running the streets once again.

New to the cast is actual Oscar winner Adrien Brody in a role that was written especially for him, and his character is going to become a major threat to Tommy and his guys – apparently "the biggest they'll face".

Also joining for the upcoming series is Aiden Gillen (Littlefinger from Game of Thrones) in quite a terrifying-sounding role.

"Aidan is a sort of, in the face of danger it's like pressing the nuclear button – you get him to help. Let me put it that way," creator Steven Knight recently revealed.

Peaky Blinders focuses on a ruthless gang – based on a real-life one – run by Murphy's character Thomas Shelby in post-World War I Birmingham, who sew razor blades into their flat caps (hence the name).

Peaky Blinders series four will air later this year on BBC Two.
