Game of Thrones is hurtling towards the end, but things don't look good for Cersei Lannister.

Star Lena Headey said that her character was "f**ked" when speaking to the New York Times, as she was asked about who will end up on the Iron Throne.

"It can't be me because I'm already there. So I'm f**ked," she said.

Although Cersei was at the height of power following the explosive events of the season six finale, fans of the scheming character should be worried for her.

"Um, she's not having a good time – there you go," she said of the upcoming season seven, which kicks off this month. "Apparently, winter is really coming, finally."

One character who doesn't want the Iron Throne is Sansa Stark, according to Sophie Turner.

"She's kept a clear head in spite of all the crap she's been through. But I don't think she has any desire for the throne," the actress recently explained.

Season seven will contain the series' longest episode to date, which is currently coming in at nearly 90 minutes.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones sound designer Paula Fairfield teased that season eight might go further than that – and that series creators David Benioff and DB Weiss may make all six episodes of the show's final season feature-length.
