The fourth series of Peaky Blinders is edging ever closer, as the Cillian Murphy BBC drama has just confirmed it's completed filming.

"That's a wrap! #Peaky Blinders 4," the show's official Twitter account wrote.

Peaky Blinders focuses on a ruthless gang, run by Murphy's character Thomas Shelby in post-World War I Birmingham, who sew razor blades into their flat caps (hence the name).

Last month, the BBC unveiled a brand new snap [above] of Murphy in his usual get-up – and with his murder weapon of choice.

Series regulars returning to the fourth and fifth series include Helen McCrory as Polly, Paul Anderson as Arthur, Sophie Rundle as Ada, Joe Cole as John – and, of course, Tom Hardy as mad, bad and dangerous-to-know Alfie Solomons.

Charlotte Riley will also reprise her role of aristocratic widow May Carleton – last seen in series two – and was snapped on-set with Cillian earlier this year.

We're also getting a couple of high-profile new additions. Adrien Brody will join Peaky Blinders in a part written especially for him, a character described as the biggest threat yet to the Shelby clan.

Aidan Gillen – Game of Thrones' Littlefinger – is also on board, playing another new character of whom we know precious little.

Peaky Blinders series four will air later this year on BBC Two.
