YouTube channel The Solomon Society has channelled its own feverish anticipation into something quite beautiful, putting together a five-minute montage of some of the most aesthetically pleasing shots from the first six seasons.

And it really is something to behold, with some of the drama's most show-stopping visuals on display in all their glory.

There are plenty of gorgeous landscapes and wide shots to feast your eyes on, showing off exactly why Thrones has won so many awards in technical and artistic categories over the years.

And the attractive cast get some attention too, with lots of shots of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) featured.

And of course, this being Game of Thrones there are also shots of dead bodies and swords dripping blood. Because what is GoT without a bit of gore?

And that final sweeping shot full of boats as far as the eye can see and three dragons swooping towards the camera brings a bit of a tear to the eye, doesn't it?

So enjoy those sumptuous medieval banquets, misty shots of a transformed Ireland and, yes, the blood, and prepare to feel just that tiny bit more excited for the return of Game of Thrones.
